There are several ways to do so:

• A lump sum donation
• Regular, periodic donations
• An annual donation of 90 Euros will recognize you as “Supporter of the Foundation”.
• A donation towards the foundation’s endowment
  

It would be wonderful if only music were the topic of discussion in these pages and if music educators could exclusively spend their time teaching music. Financial deletions and reductions in the cultural sector due to municipal, county, state, and federal budget deficits however require the constant and uncomfortable deliberation concerning the topic of money; time and budget reductions are on the agenda of many closed and public meetings.

The Wolfgang-Sawallisch-Foundation was created during a time of nationwide closing of music schools. Its constitution supports a continuation of the foundation only as long as public grants are available for the Music School Grassau and its satellite locations Marquartstein and Reit im Winkl. This condition sin-qua-non was explicitly included in the constitution per Professor Wolfgang Sawallisch’s wish.

However, this condition does not avail us with absolute protection. Only a growing number of supporters and benefactors will grant the institution the political clout that is necessary for the negotiations with public funding agencies, for the continuity of the foundation and, thus, for the enduring continuation of the musical effort in the region.
